I am so obsessed with every single one of my couples but I think I’m extra obsessed with Kelly & Adam! They were unbelievably sweet all day long. The love they have for each other shows through so much it even makes me emotional! I definitely teared up seeing the love shared between them during their first look / vow exchange but again during their Ceremony! In the past, I have been conflicted whether or not I like first looks. As a photographer it allows for a great many more photos but often times I’ve struggled with it being “non-traditional.” However, lately I’ve seen that guys are just as emotional seeing their bride walk down the aisle following a first look as they would be seeing them for the first time coming down the aisle.
Now I need to just take a minute to mention how STUNNING Kelly is. And on top of looking gorgeous I finally got to capture a cape!! If you have followed me, you know how in love I am with veil shots but I have been dying to do ~cape shots~ and wowza these did not disappoint. Capes a great option to get that traditional look of a veil but not effect your hair. Compared to a veil was much easier to attach AND toss because is was secured on her dress straps.
The weather was also ~perfect~. The rain came just in time during the reception to cool off the evening and to keep everyone on the dance floor… well that and the stellar music! Kelly & Adam’s reception also included a light up marquee with their last name which made for an AMAZING photo opt. Oh and the rain lightened up enough by the conclusion of the reception to allow us to do a sparkler exit! Seriously the best timing.
For most weddings, I don’t stay until the end but it was such a beautiful moment to be able to capture their “last dance” while all the guests headed outside for their exit. I feel so bonded with my couples because I am with them during many intimate moments throughout their day. Like always, it was an honor to be a part of Kelly & Adam’s wedding and I wish them many years of happiness!
